Betty Jean Boyle Campbell

Of Mount Olive, Arkansas

Betty Jean Boyle Campbell, daughter of the late John Boyle, III and Margaret Boyle, was born December 29, 1939 in Kingman, Arizona.  She departed this life March 13, 2021 at her home in Mount Olive, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 11 days.  Betty spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Betty spent her growing up years living in Commerce, California.  On January 31 st , 1959 while at Disneyland with a friend, she met her future husband, Clark Campbell.  Ten months later on November 27, 1959 they were united in marriage and together they raised a son and daughter.  Most of Betty's working years were spent with the United States Postal Service.  While living in Illinois, she worked for the Fox River Grove Post Office.  She started out delivering the mail and worked up to Postmaster, retiring after 25 years of employment.  After moving to Mount Olive, she returned to school and earned a Registered Nurse degree and began a second career as a Hospice RN for Izard County Hospice.   After retiring from Izard County Hospice, she returned to delivering the mail alongside her husband Clark for 12 years.  Betty was an avid reader of romance novels.  She was a creative and talented seamstress and knitter.  She and Clark were active members of Ruthie Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.  She was a long time member of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.

Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years:  Clark Campbell of the home; one daughter:  Cynthia Lee Shacklee and husband Ronald of Marengo, Illinois; one son:  Gregory Scott Campbell and wife Karen of San Antonio, Texas; one brother John Boyle, IV (Susan) of, Warsaw, Indiana; one sister:  Mary Ann Pevey of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren:  Shawn Shacklee (Jillian), Curtis Shacklee, Kristy Otten (Darth), Heather Talley (Christian), Sabrina Diaz (Louie), Sheena Warling (Jeff), Victoria Rogers (Troy),  Anastasia Campbell ; sixteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter:  Kai Campbell.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, March 19 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.    Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Jeff Sanders officiating.

Pallbearers:  Shawn Shacklee, Curtis Shacklee, Gage Shacklee and Members of Ruthie Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.
