Benny Charles Johnson
of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas
Benny Charles Johnson, son of the late Pleas Watson Johnson and Lois Marie Needham; was born September 13, 1948 in Lafferty, Arkansas. He departed this life April 26, 2018 in Sidney, Arkansas at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 13 days. Benny spent his life as a son, brother, father, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent working construction projects. At the time of his death he was employed by Arch Westmoreland. Benny was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lafferty Community Church.
He is survived by four siblings: Carroll Johnson of Lafferty, Betty Duncan and husband J. T. Of Evening Shade, Sharon Page of Batesville and Pauline Wilson and husband John of Guion, one son Scott Craig and wife Leslie of Topeka, Kansas; three step-children: Kenny Johnson and wife Lisa of Mount Pleasant, Heath Johnson and wife Lacey of Mountain Home, Jennifer Rush and husband Steven of Melbourne; eight grandchildren: Alex, Chantal, Adam, Abigail, Maicie, Ely, Ethan, and Emma and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Darrell Johnson and Phillip Johnson.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Graveside funeral service will be Monday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Reeves Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Kenny Duncan, Jeremy Page, Arch Westmoreland, Dusty Westmoreland, Anthony "Hawk" Skelton and Andy Winkle.
Honorary Pallbearer: Fred Lamb, Paul "Wimp" Winkle
