Barry
Brown
Oct 20, 1966 — Feb 14, 2023
Barry Brown, 56, of Oxford AR, formerly of Crawford County passed away in his home due to untreated HBP and sleep apnea. Barry was born October 20, 1966, to Billy Earl and Lillian Brown.
Life was never easy for Barry due to erratic and unpredictable behavior caused by mental illness, made worse by multiple concussions from playing high school football.
Ultimately, Barry was a kind-hearted person who never met a stranger and would talk your ear off if you let him. He had a love of stock car racing that he acquired from a very young age from watching his dad and uncle race. As a teenager, he loved to roam the hills around Crawford County hunting squirrels or taking a fishing trip with his parents and grandparents to White River. He was a Razorbacks and Lady Razorbacks fan.
Over the years many people tried to help Barry, the best they knew how, and we would like to acknowledge and appreciate those unknown people who did their best to help Barry, we know it wasn't always easy.
To everyone at Birch Tree Communities throughout the state of Arkansas, who provide people living with mental illness an opportunity for recovery, we'd like to thank you for all you do every day.
Barry is survived by his parents, Billy Earl and Lillian, sister Tara, a biological daughter Grace, and his fur babies, Miss Kitty and Scooter. He is also survived by his best friend, Rachel of Oxford. No services are planned but anyone who wishes can make a donation in Barry's name to Birch Tree Communities- a nonprofit organization committed to helping those with mental illness.
