She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Guion Baptist Church. She enjoyed work at White Rodger's in Batesville for many years. Later she was employed by Color Tile (Mannington Floor Co) in Melbourne, retiring from there after many years of employment. She was an active member in almost anything related to Guion. She was a member of Pins and Needles Sewing Club where she helped make many beautiful quilts. She was an avid gardener with quite the green thumb. (Family members would literally send their dying plants to her to save). She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Melbourne Manna House. For a time, she worked at the American Burger Center where she loved meeting people. Since she never met a stranger, she had many wonderful, lifelong friends. But her lifelong closest friends were Jaydine Arnold Morton and Vivian Weaver Waters.
