Arthur Durlin Welch, Jr.

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Arthur Durlin Welch, Jr., son of the late Arthur Durlin Welch, Sr., and Martha Fletcher Welch, was born July 29, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois.  He departed this life February 1, 2021 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 3 days.  Arthur proudly served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Charlene Towns October 9, 1980 and together they raised six children.  Arthur spent his life as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  He was employed by the Norfolk and Southern Railroad; retiring after 40 plus years of employment.

Arthur is survived by five daughters: Pamela Rush and husband Mark of Guion, Kimberly Rush and husband Mitch of Melbourne, Patty Merchant of Illinois, Colleen Welch and fiancé Earl Freeman of Calico Rock and Angel Welch of Calico Rock; two sons:  Cory Welch of Calico Rock and Michael Wolfe of Illinois; one sister:  Helen Chin; two brothers:  Larry Edmond Welch, Sr. and Donald Joseph Welch all of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

No memorial service is planned at this time.
