Anthony Dewayne Stewart
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Anthony Dewayne Stewart (Tony), son of the late Herbert Stewart and Louise Burk Stewart, was
born March 22, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He departed this life surrounded by his
loved ones on October 21, 2022 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 6
months and 29 days. He spent his life as a loving father, grandfather, brother, provider and
friend.
Tony graduated high school from Highland in 1967 and went on to attend college at ASU Beebe
and Jonesboro , he then spent 35 years with Shelter Insurance where he started as a local
agent and retired as a district manager. After retirement he went on to begin several successful
business endeavors.
Tony enjoyed fishing, especially fishing in Canada, where he went every chance he got and
would always share those adventures with a friend.
He was an exceptional pool player, exceptional enough to make a living out of hustling pool
games at one point in his life.
He loved to spend his days at Cooper's Hawk Golf Course playing rounds with his friends.
Tony is survived by two children: Chad Anthony Stewart of Clarksville and Stephanie Dawn
Stewart of Ash Flat; one sister: Carol Best of Rogers; three bonus daughters: Ashton (Lance)
Smith, Shelbie Byram, and Charlee Jo Byram; four grandchildren: Jett Smith, Maverick Day,
Memphys Smith, and Lynleigh Stapleton all of Melbourne, and a host of many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
