Alton "Hoot" Rush
of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Alton "Hoot" Rush, son of the late Homer Calvin and Mary Vickie Musgrove Rush, was born January 21, 1940 in Jumbo, Arkansas. He departed this life December 11, 2019 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Diane Lindsey June 6, 1962 and together they raised two children. Hoot spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, provider and friend. He retired from CenturyTel after 25 years of employment. For many years, Hoot coached Calico Rock's summer baseball and softball teams. Hoot and Diane have been overseeing visitations at Eddie's Family Funeral Home since 2006. He worshiped at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Calico Rock.

Hoot is survived by his wife of 57 years: Diane Rush of the home; two children: Karen Haley and husband Chris of Calico Rock and Paul Rush and wife Vickie of Greenbrier; three grandchildren: Matthew Rush and wife Leslie of Maumelle, Lacey Bresnahan and husband Shawn of Greenbrier and Daniel Haley of Calico Rock; three great grandchildren: Ryleigh Corter of Greenbrier, Easton Rush and Aubrey Rush of Maumelle and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: L C Rush, Calvin Rush and Grady Rush; five sisters: Eathel Watters, Beatrice Vest, Lois Rush, Mildred Faye Norris and Marie Phelps.
Visitation will be Friday, December 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery.
