Alford Vance Williams
of Dolph, Arkansas
Alford Vance Williams, son of the late Edgar Williams and Vada Lancaster Williams, was born December 25, 1932 in Cord, Arkansas. He departed this life June 7, 2018 in Dolph, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 13 days. Alford spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He worked many years at Coleman Company in Wichita until be became disabled as a mail carrier. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as long as he was able. Up until last year, he planted tomatoes to give to friends and family. He was kind to everyone and will be greatly missed. Alford became a Christian many years ago, when he lived in Wichita, Kansas. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by one brother: Elvis Williams and wife Gaye of Dolph; three sisters: Jewel Whitehead and husband James of Salesville, Wanda Teegarden of Dolph and Linda Helm of Dolph; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Wilson Williams and R. A . Williams and two sisters: Dorothy Sanders and Retha Dockins.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Funeral service will be Monday, June 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Dolph Baptist Church with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will be at Wayland Arbor Cemetery.
